You may have seen me rave about the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Eyeshadow in shade Kitten Karma, since it had a firm spot in my summer makeup bag last year. Plus when Stila released these unique glitter formulas (at the time) they were all the hype as the beauty world went crazy for them. When summer died down so did my hype for this glittering liquid eyeshadow, as I started to tone down my makeup looks. However when I spotted the new(ish) Magnificent Metals Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow, I swiftly picked up the shade Twig (after thorough consideration between a couple of stunning shades). Not long after I re-found my love for Kitten Karma, which pairs up perfectly with Twig for that super glam and glitzy kind of makeup look. Now it would be great if only I had more glamorous opportunities to sport this kind of look, instead of the usual school pick up.

I wasn't sure what to expect of these new Shimmer & Glow Eyeshadows, but I have to say that I'm blown away by the quality, go Stila Cosmetics! I know I only have the one shade Twig, a warm reddish brown with a metallic finish,  but despite the higher price tag.. I now want to get my hands on  pretty much all of the remaining shades. The rich pigmentation is spot on and the application is effortless, so easy to blend out. It's metallic and shimmering but in a completely different way to the glittering Kitten Karma shade, since it's formulated without glitter pieces. Instead it's packed with pearl pigments for a bold shimmer and a buildable finish. You can easily prep your eyes with primer or concealer, and wear this alone for a super smokey and sultry finish. Or you can go one step further and add some more glitz with the Glitter & Glow eyeshadow like I have done trying (emphasis on trying) to create a halo effect look.

I forgot to prime my lids with my go-to eye primer, opting for the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer instead, which I also used under my eyes and I have to say I was really impressed at how well this lasted throughout the day... no creasing or fading at all. Which makes it even more perfect for an evening makeup look as touching up throughout the night is the last thing I want to be doing.

I kept the rest of my makeup quite minimal, as I opted for a light base using two of my favourite concealers, the MAC above for extra coverage like my dark circles and the Charlotte Tilbury Retoucher for an even complexion. Yes I am rarely using foundation these days (in fact I only own 2 foundations at the moment, shock horror I know), instead I opt for concealer wherever I may need some coverage. My skin seems to be much happier this way and if it's not broken then don't fix it am I right?!

Next I add some colour onto my skin by using a mixture of the Cover FX Contour Kit and the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Blush Glow palette. Both are favourites of mine that add a bronzed look with light contouring and a glowing touch of rosy colour to my cheeks. The overall finish is super natural, which I love. I'm currently on the hunt for a new setting powder and torn between the cult favourite from Laura Mercier and the new Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder (which sounds almost too good to be true). If any of you have tried any of the two, please leave me your thoughts and recommendations below... Nevertheless for the time being I am using the stunning Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, in particular the shade Dim Light to give that flawless photoshoot finish. However I find that whilst it gives the most natural, your skin but better finish.. I'm not sure that it helps to extend the wear of my makeup. To add a glowing finish to my complexion, I'm currently trying out the Jouer Powder Highlighter in shade Rose Gold and so far so good. The formula is super smooth, pigmented and the shade is just stunning.

Lastly my for my brows I used my trusty ABH Dipbrow Pomade and for my lashes the Benefit BADgal Bang mascara (which I actually forgot to photograph here, there's always one product isn't there). And last but not least I kept my lips matte and rosy nude by using the stunning Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip in shade Pastel Petal. I haven't raved about these liquid lipsticks enough but I absolutely adore the pigmented colour and hydrating formula. Definitely my favourite liquid lipsticks from all the other options that I've tried in the past.

And that's a wrap for this glitzy evening makeup look. I'd love to hear if you've tried any of the above products, in particular the new Magnificent Metals Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow? Let me know your thoughts below.
