#CultProductOfTheYear

Cult Beauty is quickly becoming one of my favourite beauty sites as I find myself browsing through their products on a regular basis. So when they got in touch and asked me to share my #CultProductOfTheYear.. I was super excited to put together a list of my top makeup essentials. These are my must-have makeup products from the past year which I would recommend to any beauty lover in a heartbeat. I really enjoyed being able to go through my makeup collection and narrow down my favourite beauty finds. It wasn't as daunting as I had imagined it might be and it gave me a chance to really think about my ultimate list of products.

Another thing worth mentioning is that at the moment Cult Beauty are running a daily Instagram giveaway by giving away £100 Cult Beauty voucher to one lucky winner every day until the 11th of December. If you would like to join in, all you need to do is share a photo of your Cult Product of the Year using the hashtag #CultProductOfTheYear along with a quick explanation of why this is your cult product. Make sure to check out Cult Beauty's Instagram here for more details, it's definitely a giveaway not to be missed. Now onto my 2017 makeup favourites..

#CultProductOfTheYear

I'll start off with my personal #CultProductOfTheYear, which is what the post is all about. Even though choosing my top ten products was relatively easy, picking out the one cult product of the year was that bit trickier. In the end I opted for the amazing BeautyBlender. Yes this tiny sponge has gained cult status in my makeup collection and this particular swirl version is probably my fifth one of the year. I am still using all five sponges in rotation because they do last quite a long time, especially when you look after them by cleaning them regularly etc. I seem to be collecting the various different colours available, so far I have the original pink, black, nude and purple.. so of course I am very happy to add this super pretty white with a pink swirl, almost marble design to the collection. I haven't found another makeup sponge that gives such a flawless makeup application, not to mention that blending out any kind of cream product is super effortless and an absolute dream. Definitely worth every single penny.

Sticking to the theme of beauty tools, next up I have my favourite brand of brushes which is of course Zoeva. I could write all day about the various brushes I have tried from the brand but sticking to a favourite I wanted to focus on the 227 Soft Definer Brush, which is a must-have brush for any kind of smoke eye look. This eye brush is super soft and the perfect tool for creating smooth transitions between eye shadows. It's basically a dupe for the more expensive MAC 217 and after a couple of years of using both, I actually prefer the Zoeva one and love that it's lasting so well. Overall if I could get my hands on all Zoeva brush sets I so would, in fact I'm already eyeing up the new Opulence set which is just stunning. For the price and the quality, I couldn't recommend Zoeva brushes enough.

Whilst I am talking about Zoeva, I also wanted to mention that their eyeshadow palettes are amongst my top favourites from the past year. Considering the affordable price, you get amazing quality with super pigmented eyeshadows that are so soft and easy to blend. If you love your warm tones in particular, the Cocoa Blend and Caramel Melange palettes are a dream and right there in my top  eyeshadow palettes. I won't go into too much detail as I have written blogs posts featuring both palettes before.. just have a little browse here and here if you're interested.

Moving onto complexion, I have a couple of favourites from a brand that I discovered this year through Cult Beauty and I am really happy I did. Of course I'm talking about Cover FX, in particular their Infusion Drops C+ Lemongrass, Cover Drops, Enhancer Drops and Contour Kit. I wrote a lengthy blog post all about the products individually here. As I mentioned before I love that Cover FX as a brand focus on skin and being able to find the right match for your tone by customising your products, which is why the above complexion heroes are featured in my makeup favourites. The brand's innovative and customisable products offer flexible coverage depending on your preference, which is amazing. Another great thing worth mentioning is that their products don't contain the ‘Inflammatory 5’ (parabens, fragrance, gluten, mineral oil and talc), so their products are suitable for event the most sensitive skin types.

The last favourite for complexion is the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush in shade Ecstasy, which I have been using non-stop ever since I got my hands on it back in April. Again the blush has been featured on my blog before (you can find it here), so I won't go into too much detail. I will however say that I love the warm rosy peach tone of this blush, it just adds a healthy glow to your finished makeup look. The formula is super smooth and almost feels creamy, so it blends out effortlessly and gives off a super natural finish.

Another Charlotte Tilbury favourites is the Legendary Brows in shade Supermodel, which is my go-to brow product and has pretty much gained holygrail status in my makeup collection. I love the ultra thin brush and it's what makes the product stand out for me, because precise application for thinner brows like mine is an absolute breeze. It always looks super natural and stays put all day, definitely a winner.

To finish off the eyes I can't be without mascara and my favourite from 2017 has definitely been the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara. Firstly I love the pretty packaging and the slightly curved wand which is able to grab, separate, lift and curl the lashes effortlessly. I find that the curl lasts all day on lashes since it has a long-wearing formula that is also water-resistant. The best part is that it removes easily at the end of the day by just using my regular Micellar Water.

Last but not least I have my favourite lip product discovery of the year and that is the Jouer Long-Wear Lip Topper. I've basically been ignoring all my lipsticks for the past couple of months as I'm just obsessed with this. Lip toppers became a thing around late Spring with more and more companies creating their own sparkling versions. I've stuck with the Jouer option and was delighted to get the chance to stock up on a firm favourite, as I really wanted to try a new shade. Originally I got my hands on the Rose Gold shade and have now also added the popular Skinny Dip shade to my collection. These are basically lip glosses packed with glitter and sparkle, so they give off the most beautifully plumped off finish to my ever so dry and thin lips, especially now in the winter months. The formula isn't sticky, instead it's hydrating as it contains coconut oil and vitamin E. I highly recommend giving these lip toppers a try, especially if you like all things sparkly.

And with that I've come to the end of my 2017 makeup favourites. I tried to keep it short and sweet to avoid boredom, so I do hope you enjoyed reading all about my #CultProductOfTheYear along with my must-have makeup picks. Don’t forget to enter the current Instagram completion by sharing your Cult Product, as I’d love to see your personal top favourites in there.
