Sweet as Nectar with Colourpop

It's been a while since I've made a Colourpop order and even this particular little haul was actually placed back at the end of May, but somehow I'm only getting around to reviewing it for you now. The American brand is a favourite amongst bloggers for their amazing and unique products, not to mention the affordable prices. Sadly us bloggers here in the UK are bound to be hit with custom charges, so do try to factor that cost into your overall purchase when ordering. For example this particular order came to a total of $50 and at least I got free international shipping, but nevertheless got stung with almost £20 customs. However I have been really happy with every single product, not to mention that it all arrived in pristine condition, so I won't overthink the extra charges. Now let me tell you about what I picked up.. since it was just the beginning of summer I went a little bit crazy for the peachy tones and in particular the brand's Nectar collection.

First up the ColourPop Cannoli Highlighter Trio, which includes three different highlighters, all individually packaged and recommended for medium skin tones. This is my first time trying out the brand's highlighters and I was definitely impressed, plus I love the warm golden tones of this particular set. The texture of all highlighters is super smooth, creamy and almost spongy. The pigmentation is amazing and there's no obvious shimmer, just a stunning pearly sheen finish. Because of the unique texture I find that using my fingertips or my beautyblender works best at applying these highlighters. They are so easy to blend out on the skin and the overall look is really natural. Every time I wear these highlighters I find that they last all day without fading away. The shades included in the set are:
  • Frosted is described as a soft true gold and I love the warm, yellow undertones.
  • Whipped has a marbled effect which was almost too pretty to use. This one is a little bit different from my usual highlighters, it's still warm toned but with a rosy bronze finish.
  • Wisp is a light champagne with gold pearls and warm undertones, just stunning.
I'm really glad I finally got to try out the brand's ever so popular highlighters, now I can understand the hype and it's totally deserved.

Next up I've got the Blow Me Away Pressed Powder Shadow Palette, because the shades are just perfect for summer and I have been really curious to try out the brand's newly pressed shadow formula. Straight away I really like the packaging of this quad and the warm peachy tones. The formula doesn't disappoint either, as it feels silky smooth and blends evenly. The pigmentation is incredible and the shades are quite vibrant, so I would actually recommend to use a light hand.. building up the intensity is essential to avoid going overboard. The quad is a beautiful mix of warm peaches, corals and oranges that stand out on my complexion, not to mention they bring out my eye colour even more. I've used these shades with my usual eye primer and they lasted all day without fading or creasing. The quad is made up of the four different shades below:
  • Take a Break is a duochrome peach with golden undertones and a metallic sheen.
  • Issues is a light peach, almost pastel with warm tones and a matte finish.
  • Centerfold is a vibrant coral with a matte finish.
  • Slim Fit is again another bright coral, this time with strong red undertones and a matte finish.
Overall I am really enjoying this palette, especially now for the summer months and I can't find any negatives to be honest.

Lastly from the Nectar collection I've got the Phase 1 Lip Bundle which is made up of three different lip products.. an ultra matte, an ultra satin and an exclusive ultra glossy lip. I have always found the ultra matte lippies quite drying, but the same applies to most of my liquid lipsticks since I have thin lips that are usually dry 99% of the time. However I love that there is a gloss in this set as I can wear it on top of the matte to avoid that horrible flaky look. My favourite formula of the bunch is probably the satin lip, since it just feels really comfortable to wear and doesn't dry out my lips. I'm also impressed with the gloss and just how pigmented it is, not something you would usually expect from a gloss. The three different shades are:
  • The Twirl which is the Ultra Matte Lip and a lovely pinky coral shade.
  • Likely is the Ultra Satin Lip, which is a soft peachy nude shade.
  • Up Do is the Ultra Glossy Lip and a true coral shade, with an almost creamy finish.
Each lip product wears well throughout the day, especially the matte if your lips can handle this kind of matte finish. Even the gloss will stay put for a good few hours before it starts fading. Overall it's a great lip bundle for summer's most wanted colour tones.

As you can see I was quite impressed with this warm toned collection, I do love warm toned shades in general as I find they suit my complexion really well. Right now I am super tempted to pick up all the newbies that Colourpop have brought out lately (seriously can this brand do no wrong?!). I'd love to know if you've bought any of their new releases and if you recommend anything in particular? If not what are your thoughts on this peach toned collection?
