So today's post is pretty much my declaration of love for Charlotte Tilbury products, including the two newbies I purchased recently. Yes the brand can be pricey and at times a touch overrated, but let's face it Charlotte Tilbury herself is a beauty legend with years of experience in the beauty & makeup industry, so she really knows what she's doing when releasing her products. To top that she constantly creates the most beautiful packaging that truly makes each and every single product stand out. My CT collection certainly isn't massive, I've only got a small range from her makeup line and a skincare product that sadly didn't work for my skin (you can read about my experience with the Magic Cream here)... so it's not all sweet roses. However I still think the brand deserves a worthy mention on my blog and some well earned appreciation.
Due to all the rose gold and beautiful packaging, it can be quite overwhelming heading to one of the brand's counters as you may not know where to even look first. That is why I thought it might be helpful to show you the pieces that I've picked up, which I personally think are worth checking out. When I was first introduced to the brand I really liked that you could choose from 10 different looks that Charlotte Tilbury created herself. I found each look quite inspiring and loved that there was plenty of tutorials available for each 'makeup wardrobe'. Of course I was instantly attracted to the sultry, feminine and alluring Dolce Vita look and kind of went from there with the makeup products I picked out. This was over a year ago, so my products have been well loved and used by now... you'll have to excuse the not so perfect photos.
First up the Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette, which is all about rich burgundy and golden tones that I love wearing all year round to be honest. The four different shades are: a warm pale gold champagne, a warm terra cotta brown, a medium burgundy with micro golden shimmer and a glittery copper gold. With these four shades you can easily achieve a complete eye look, although it may be a bit to shimmery for those that like a more subtle look. Even though it's super sleek and only has 4 shades, I find it quite easy to create both day and night makeup looks, so I tend to opt for this palette when I'm travelling. The shades have a super soft buttery texture, they are well pigmented and blend out smoothly, apart from the glittery copper shade.. which I would describe almost as pressed glitter and find that it's best applied using your fingertips by lightly pressing on the eyelids. Overall I was quite impressed when I first bought the palette (you can read my initial review here) and I'm still 100% happy with it a year on. With 8 different palettes to choose from, it's definitely one worth checking out.
Next up another great buy from Charlotte Tilbury is of course the Filmstar Bronze & Glow Palette, which I have in Light - Medium. Before I go any further I need to warn you that this little beauty doesn't come cheap at all, you've got to fork out £49 if you want super model sculpted cheeks. However just have a look of how well loved my palette is in just one year (bearing in mind that I am a beauty blogger with tons of other contour kits in my collection). Inside you will find a satin bronzing powder for sculpting and a beautiful shimmery champagne highlighter to add radiance. The packaging of course is absolutely stunning, even the outer packaging was almost too pretty to throw away (see my initial review here). The formula feels silky soft on the skin and blends out effortlessly. It also lasts really well throughout the day, it doesn't fade away and it doesn't go patchy. Charlotte claims that both shades are universal and should work for fair to medium skin tones, but for the price tag I would still swatch it in person and maybe even have it applied at a counter, to make sure that you're 100% happy with how it looks on your skin tone. So if the shades work for you and you're happy to treat yourself, than I would say go for it. There's also a Medium to Dark option available, which I've only just noticed on their direct website so it's great to see that they cater for a wide variety of skin tones.
Next up let me rave again about the Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder is shade 2 Medium, which is one my newest beauty buys. I quickly introduced you to this beautiful powder on my last makeup look post here, as I told you that it was pretty much love at first sight. Fast forward and I am still head over heels with this powder. The super finely milled powder is virtually weightless on my skin almost melts into the skin as I apply it. It's brilliant for setting makeup in place especially when I opt for a light concealer or a tinted moisturiser like I have been doing recently. Even though it leaves my skin with a satin finish, it still manages to keep my skin looking bright and illuminated. What I love most is that it blurs my pores almost like magic, so it's definitely true to its airbrush name. There's only 3 shades available so it may not work for everyone in terms of skin tone but at the same time, actual coverage is quite minimal so you may be able to get away with it. I now consider this my holygrail and would highly recommend it to anyone that's looking for a super luxe, breathable powder.
Last but not least I have two lipstick shades from the Matte Revolution Lipstick range, one of them is a newbie that everyone is currently talking about, Pillow Talk, and the other is an old favourite, Amazing Grace, perfect for upcoming spring. What I love most about these lipsticks is of course the amazing formula, which is matte but plumping at the same time. It feels super comfortable on the lips and so easy to wear throughout the day, without experiencing any kind of dryness. What's different from other matte lipsticks is that they're infused with ‘3D glowing pigments’ which help to keep lips looking healthy. There's also Orchid extract and special blend of oils to protect and hydrate the lips further. They may not be super long lasting compared to a liquid lipstick, but it's a price I am willing to pay in order to keep my lips feeling great. I also really like the square angled shape of these lipstick bullets, as I find them quite easy to apply without using an extra lip brush or making a mess of everything. So like you can see I have two shades... (from left to right in the photos above) firstly there's the newest Pillow Talk; the most universal & flattering nude shade for all skin tones. It has brown and pink undertones so it can look different on everyone and it's certainly my favourite 'my lips but better lipstick shade'. Next is Amazing Grace, which is an elegant dusty rose shade perfect for adding warmth to my complexion and great for the warmer months ahead. I'd definitely like to add a dark shade such as Glastonberry to my collection once winter rolls around again next year.
So that's my small Charlotte Tilbury collection and the few products from the brand which I really love and enjoy using on a regular basis. I recently tried out a sample of The Retoucher Concealer and now I have convinced myself that I need it, because it looked amazing on my skin throughout the whole day. Have you bought anything from Charlotte Tilbury recently or are you planning on splurging on the brand anytime soon?
