Ready for the Chill

Ready for the Chill

I'm not really sure where exactly I want to go with this post, because as much as I want to tell you about my new purchases which make up this outfit... I also want to have a little ramble & a chat, as I feel like I haven't done that in a long time. Since it's my blog after all, I guess I can do both. The weather has finally taken a turn towards Autumn (although I won't lie it's not as chilly as I had imagined and I was actually quite warm wearing this outfit combo). It is lovely to finally be able to breathe without that sticky feeling, not to mention enjoy my copious amounts of hot tea and wear cosy gear all day everyday. I've also started changing my makeup as I now gear towards all the warm, rich brown tones and burgundy shades too. But best of all I am slowly adding autumn/winter pieces to my wardrobe for the next couple of months. Which is where this little outfit comes in, mostly made up of New Look items with a touch of Primark (so super affordable too).

When I received a 30% discount code for New Look, I quickly had a browse and came across the jacket & dress that I'm wearing here, which I knew I had to have. The Grey Bar Back Split Side Maxi Coat is totally stepping out of my comfort zone, but it's a style that I've noticed for some time now and loved how it looked on others. I'm still not 100% sure if I can pull it off but it's cosy and warm, so I am holding on to it. Let's hope I will get used to this style after a couple of times wearing it. The Black Heart Print Wrap Front Dress is quite casual but can also be dressed up. It really suits my body shape, plus the heart pattern is super pretty. I also like the flared sleeves and the V neckline. The only problem is with how much cleavage it shows off, not something I'm comfortable with so I wore a plain black vest underneath to fix the issue. The last part of the outfit are of course a black pair of Primark booties, which were pricier than I would usually pay for Primark items... but apparently they are made with real leather making them super comfy to wear. They have a small heel which is perfect for me and a zip detail on the side.

Now that I've told you all about my new purchases, let's have a little chat. I'm not sure if I mentioned it here but when I came back from my 3 month summer break in Ireland, I was on the hunt for a new job. Ellie is now in nursery (only 2 and a half days a week), but it still gives me a bit more freedom to work towards a career and have more of a full time job. The past couple of months have been stressful trying to job hunt and find something in the field that I wanted (sticking to the beauty/blog/social media field). To be honest I wasn't getting much feedback at all from my applications and found it quite disheartening overall. In the end I stuck to secretarial work with social media as an extra on the side. I was definitely more successful in that field and I will be starting my new job this week, which is quite exciting. I look forward to being back in the working world, especially since my new job fits in perfectly with my mommy lifestyle. I will still try and maintain my blog, hoping I will continue to post twice a week... but if I happen to miss a post once in a while please bare with me as I adjust to my new routine.

Apart from this new change in my life, I look forward to spending my first Christmas in London... I know the C word is not something most people want to even mention right now, but unfortunately it's quickly approaching us. I will miss spending the day with my family, but I'm also looking forward to having a more quiet day in London with Ellie & David. It will also put the pressure off buying tons of presents and trying to fit everything into a suitcase, not to mention airport frenzy. I'm no sure what it is, but the older I get the more anxious I get about travelling (once my suitcases are put through I do relax a bit but until then I am a total stress head). It will also be nice to decorate our little London apartment with Christmas decorations, something we haven't had to do until now, since we've been away every festive season so far.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this outfit, and you can also chat to me about any new changes in your life. Let me know in the comments below...
