Hair is never much of a hot topic for me, simply because I am not that great of looking after my hair well and I'm absolutely terrible at creating any kind of hairstyles (yes even the basic ones). I do however go through phases of trying to get into some sort of a hair care routine and I start off with easy, simple steps that I know I can personally manage in my time schedule. Today I thought I would share my top three hair heroes in my hair routine... basically products that I always have on a regular basis
First up hair masks are extremely important for me, since I have spent years of switching up my hair colour and at the moment I'm actually trying to maintain my balayage. Bleaching your hair as you may know can be quite damaging, hence why I always use a hair mask (it may not be every week if I am being forgetful but it's quite regularly). I was recently sent this Ogario London Restore & Shine Masque* and have been trying to include it in my weekly pampering routine, since I am currently spending the summer back in my home town and naturally have a bit more time on my hands. I have to say first of all I LOVE the scent of this mask so much, it's super refreshing with notes of Lavender, Sage, Lime & Lemon. It's a pleasure to open up the packaging and apply it through the hair, instantly perking up my mood. The mask is packed with ingredients like Avocado, Olive Oil, Aloe Vera, Nettle & Horsetail... which are nourishing & repairing for the hair overall. I love how soft & silky my hair feels when using this weekly, it's pretty much all the TLC your hair needs.
Next up dry shampoo, where would I be without it... literally a lifesaver in my beauty routine, especially the range from Batiste. I can barely survive two days before my hair starts to feel greasy and I need to wash it again, which can be a total pain as I really don't like washing my hair daily. This is where dry shampoo comes in as I am able to instantly freshen up my hair and make it feel like it's just been washed. I only use this on the second day of not washing my hair and usually by the third I give in. I normally pick up the dark brunette version of this as it doesn't give me that grey effect you can sometimes get with dry shampoo if your hair is really dark, but this time around I was given this floral scent one by a friend. I have tried other brands in the past but to be honest I always come back to Batiste as I know that it works and like I said they seem to be the only brand that has different coloured versions for different hair colours, which I love (PS. I could actually be wrong on that as I haven't researched the beauty market but just from my in store knowledge).
Last but not least, my beloved Tangle Teezer (which I have raved about before in my all time favourites post a while back). I actually still one the black version included in that post from a year ago and my ever first Tangle Teezer too.. they actually still work perfectly fine, maybe just looking a bit grubby. But when their team contacted me for a collaboration I couldn't resist getting one of the Compact Styler Detangling Brushes*, since they seem perfect for popping in your handbag. As you can see from the photos this smaller version fits perfectly in my hand and really is a great size for traveling. I love the removable cover that's included, because it protects the flexi teeth from damage or dirt. I chose this sleek & stylish Gold Rush design, even though I was also loving the adorable Pug Love design.
The team also kindly sent me the two different versions of the Magic Flowerpot Detangling Hairbrush for Kids* when I mentioned that Ellie was also a fan of the Tangle Teezer. As you can see Ellie's hair is quite long (she's only had it cut twice and that was literally the ends), so you can imagine how tangly it gets after a day of fun... I'll find her breakfast, dinner and even playdoh stuck in her hair sometimes haha. Trying to detangle it and brush it on a regular, daily basis became a chore for me and something which she absolutely hated since it's obviously quite sore for her. I quickly started using my own Tangle Teezer on her and slowly she got better with the idea of brushing her hair. Now that she has her very own version which looks super fun, she is over the moon and even brushes her own hair (sometimes). If you struggle to keep your girl's hair tangle free without the crying, I can't recommend these fun & playful Tangle Teezers... they really are fantastic. I also love that the brush has this flowerpot design meaning I can also store Ellie's clips in there too, without having the hunt the house down for them. Overall a complete winner not only in my eyes but for Ellie too.
So these are my top three hair essentials, basically products that are a must for my hair routine. I'd love to hear your thoughts on any of the brands and do let me know all about your favourite hair products...
