Last week I was lucky enough to attend the #EssieNailsLaunch with Spa London to celebrate introducing Essie to their Kensington branch as well as all the other branches within London. You may remember me blogging about Spa London a while back, it's basically a branch of affordable spas that offer a bit of luxury to everyone regardless of their budgets (you can read all about it here in more detail). This particular event focused on the fact that Spa London have introduced Essie as their main brand for their available nail treatments. Essie is a brand that I have loved for many years... their nail polishes may be pricier than other drugstore options, but they have never disappointed me. Learning all about the professional formula for salons and the fact that they even offer gel polishes was really interesting. Not to mention that I had the opportunity to browse through all the gorgeous shades available, which was really fun.
Spa London gave us the choice of having a regular manicure, nail art or even a gels treatment at their lovely Kensington branch. I stuck to my boring old self and got a regular manicure treat, as I opted for the shade Virgin Snow, which I have been getting compliments on non-stop. It's the perfect spring pastel shade, really unique and it has wore so well since having them painted on Tuesday (usually my nails chip within a day, but I've only taken them off at the weekend when I noticed some chipping after a deep spring clean of my house). My manicure treatment was such a lovely pamper, the friendly therapist really looked after my hands as she trimmed my awful cuticles, shaped my nails & even gave me a relaxing hand massage. She then applied two coats of the polish along with base & top coats of course, as I sipped on a glass of champagne... feeling very relaxed indeed. I thought it would take forever for my nails to dry, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that after 15 mins of waiting in the spa relaxation room, they felt completely dried and I was able to head back home for #mommyduties.
Most of the bloggers at the event opted for the longer lasting gel manicure, which I now kind of wished I had also opted for. I decided to stay away from gels as they usually make my nails quite weak and I already have weak nails to begin with. But whilst we learned all about the professional formulas, I was told that Essie gels have been created to look after the nails and they actually have nourishing ingredients, so they don't leave your nails feeling weak after the experience. I'll definitely have to opt for one of the gels manicures when I am back to London next because that sounds really intriguing.
To end the lovely afternoon off we were then given a fab goodie bag to take home full of Essie polishes, which of course I am loving already. I received the full range of four Luxeeffects Fringe Top Coats*, which is a dazzling collection of different coloured bar glitters perfect for fun, party nails. My daughter already got dibs on the pink shade, Fashion Flares, which she made me apply on her as soon as I arrived home. I also received the Apricot Cuticle Oil*, which I am delighted with since it's been one of those products that I have been checking out in the drugstore for quite some time but have yet to purchase. This is as good as it sounds and smells even better than you think, but most importantly it really does what it says and that is to nourish cuticles. I get really dry cuticles that start to peel back, so this is working wonders on my hands at the minute.
I'd like to thank Spa London once again for having me over to their lovely Kensington branch & offering such a pampering manicure treatment, not to mention the fab goodie bag. Have you tried Essie as a brand before? If so what's your favourite product?
