Makeup Revolution New Releases

Makeup Revolution New Releases

If you're a blogger or even if you just stay in touch with the beauty world on a regular basis, then you will know all about the hot brand that is Makeup Revolution with fantastic products & budget prices. They are constantly releasing new products to the market and I've noticed that now with their second birthday celebrations, the products have definitely come a long way from where they first started out (hence my little unnecessary haul). I've discovered some amazing beauty gems from the brand since I originally discovered them but I have also come across a few duds, which is more than understandable considering the budget prices and the fact that I have quite a few years of experience with different makeup brands/products over the years (definitely not a newbie to it all). This will explain why I haven't place an order with the brand for quite some time now, but when I spotted some of their new releases I just had to pick up a few products and let's just say I am definitely glad I did so. So here's what I picked up...

Makeup Revolution Advanced Complexion Expert Hard

Makeup Revolution Advanced Complexion Expert Hard

I'll start off with my least favourite product from the bunch and that's the Makeup Revolution Advanced Complexion Expert Hard £5.99. To be honest I should have known this wasn't going to be anything like my beloved beauty blender considering it's advertised as a sculpting sponge specifically for contouring. I saw that it was black in colour, which is my favourite part about my current beauty blender so I took a chance on it anyway. As the name suggests this is quite hard in texture, like it feels really firm when you squeeze it (even when it's used wet). Therefore it makes foundation application a bit difficult, since you don't get the same flawless finish as you would with the bouncy beauty blender. In all fairness Makeup Revolution have still created a great product here because I would imagine it's fantastic for contouring, which is what it's been designed for. I took a risk hoping it would pay off though, but sadly it wasn't meant to be. However I still need to try it with cream contouring/highlighting, so I will keep you updated on that.

Makeup Revolution Lip Euphoria Fate, Fortune

Now the next new releases are the Makeup Revolution Lip Euphoria Lip Colours £3, which get a huge thumbs up from me. As you can see from the photos above I picked up two very different shades, Fate (a soft, nude pink) and Fortune (a deep berry). I love both shades equally, as they both apply effortlessly on the lips and offer amazing pigmentation. Of course I'm sure you will see me sporting Fate the most, especially now that Spring has finally arrived. I love the unique formula, which feels super creamy & buttery (almost remind me of the NYX Butter Glosses except that the pigment with the MUR versions is so much more intense). So the best way to describe them is that they apply like an intense lipgloss, leaving a super glossy finish without the stickiness... yet they last throughout the day like a creamy lipstick, so that's about 3/4 hours of wear time (not including eating/drinking). Once the gloss starts fading away you're left with a lovely stain behind, which I really like. I honestly can't fault these lippies, everything from the packaging to the formula is spot on, especially considering the budget price.

Makeup Revolution Shimmer Brick Rose Gold, Radiant

Makeup Revolution Shimmer Brick Radiant

The last two products I'll be reviewing for you are the Makeup Revolution Shimmer Bricks £3, which I picked up in both shades available Rose Gold & Radiant (for blog purposes and comparisons don't you know). You may know that the original shimmer brick was released by Bobbi Brown and caused a lot of hype in the beauty world... fast forward a few years and I did eventually manage to get my hands on one of the BB bricks last year (you can check my review here if you're interested). Guess what though I've barely even used it since, I'm ashamed to say it's been gathering dust. Saying that I was still eager to see how these budget versions (like serious bargains) would compare to the original high end version. I have to say they are fantastic dupes overall and you definitely can't get anything better for this price. They really do provide the most gorgeous glow to your cheekbones and a little goes a long way, once again they are super pigmented. I love swirling a fluffy brush around all the shades to pick up the colour, but of course if using a precise brush you can use each shade individually (it would also double up as a shimmery eyeshadow palette). With both shades there's no chunks of glitter, but just a beautiful sheen. As you can see from the photos above Rose Gold not only adds a bronzing highlight effect but also colour to your cheeks, so you can definitely skip on blush with this one. Radiant is a much more natural kind of shade and it provides more of a golden glow to the skin. I love these shimmer bricks and can definitely see them becoming favourites of mine for spring/summer ahead.

So overall I am more than just impressed with these new releases from  Makeup Revolution and think that the brand are growing so well not just in terms of their fans but also within the products they create. It's a great way to buy a few new beauty releases, keeping with the latest makeup trends and fuelling the makeup addict in you... without having to break the bank. Have you tried any of the new Makeup Revolution releases? Let me know your favourite products...
