I've mentioned before that I don't exactly go all out for Valentine's day, but when it comes to makeup it's always fun to create different looks and focus on certain holidays even if it is just a Hallmark holiday. Today I didn't step away from my comfort zone too much as I've created a makeup look that's quite natural yet it has a bit of glam to it when it comes to the eye makeup. I've focused on pink, soft tones from the lips to the eyes (because it is aimed at Valentines after all). Apart from the fact that I dug out my super dusty Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, I was very excited to use a few products from natural makeup brand Dusty Girls and I have to admit that I was super impressed from the first try (check out my full review here if you've missed it). I love how the look turned out overall and I hope you can get inspired for your Valentines Day, whatever you may be doing. I'll be chilling at home with my little lady, more than likely watching a Disney film and stuffing my face (super glamorous I know haha).
So the main focus for the face was Dusty Girls Earth Cream in shade Light, which looks so natural on the skin yet it still provides a decent amount of coverage. I won't talk about it too much as I do have a the full review in my previous post. To cover my under eye circles I used a relatively new favourite of mine the Vichy Dermablend Corrective Stick, which is amazing for hiding those dark circles and let's face it they have been a bit worse then usual recently as Ellie's been going through a bad sleeping pattern. Once that was done I didn't feel the need to set my base in place as it left a semi-matte finish on my skin, so I was perfectly happy with how it looked as it was (I'm all about the dewy finish and healthy glow).
I went ahead to bronze up the skin slightly by using an old favourite of mine Benefit Hoola Bronzer, I honestly don't think I'll ever get bored of this product it's perfect. To add a flush of colour to my cheeks I used another new product from Dusty Girls, the Pink Ladies Mineral Blush. I love how natural this looks and it has a slight shimmer to it, which added a gorgeous rosy glow to my cheeks. I do like my highlight to be a lot stronger though, so despite the glow I still wanted to add more with another old favourite Benefit Watts Up.
It was then time to focus on the eyes and I used the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette for the whole look. I love the rosy tones within this palette, it's perfect for a soft glam look such as this one. I used the shades Limit all over the lid, Nooner in the crease with Factory in the outer V and Buzz over the rest of the eyelid towards the inner corner. Once that was blended out well, I just added some of the Benefit Watts Up highlighter to my inner corner and I was good to go.
For definition and a touch of glam I opted for a flicked liner using the L'Oreal Superliner in Black. To finish the eyes I used my current favourite mascara, Realash Up which adds length, volume & holds a good curl too.
The last thing left were the lips and I knew I wanted them to be my perfect pinky nude shade. To create this I used the Rimmel Eastend Snob Lipliner and MAC Creme Cup Lipstick, together they are the perfect mix and feel really comfortable on the lips too.
And of course to end the post I thought I would show you a few photos of my little lady and I being silly. She wants to be part of everything I do naturally, so if I'm taking blog photos she's gotta be in on the action haha. Hope you enjoyed my makeup look and you can take some inspiration for Valentines Day. But most of all I hope you have a great weekend and just have fun regardless of how you may or may not be celebrating this occasion!
