What is this madness you say, why am I even mentioning the C word when we are all enjoying the beautiful summer weather… Well Aldi invited me along to their Christmas event last week showcasing what's to come in stores this weekend and I just couldn't resist having a peek. I was also quite excited to be attending such a fun & unusual event. I'd just like to say thank you once again to Aldi & Grace for inviting me along, the team pulled off such a fantastic Christmas themed event in the middle of summer and I was/am summer grateful to have been able to go along to it… All that's left to do now is patiently wait for the amazing products that will be launched in upcoming months, wether they are beauty, kids or homeware there's a list of things that I want to make sure I snap up (even if I have to travel for ages to my nearest store).
The event took place in Kettners, Soho which is a Georgian style townhouse with a restaurant, bar & even private rooms, that have well & truly survived the test of time. Aldi took over the entire upper building with each room showcasing a certain part of what Aldi has to offer, not to mention beautiful Christmas decorations everywhere which really brought the place alive. First on the list had to be a visit to the beauty room where I finally met the lovely Grace, she was super nice showing me the various products that will be on offer over winter, there was even a makeup artist on hand if you wanted to try out any particular products and I also had the opportunity to chat to one of their skincare experts about the star of the show in my opinion; the Caviar Illumination skincare collection. This particular range is super luxurious from the packaging to the products inside but the price is kept to a minimum. I'm quite excited to try the range myself in the future and see how it compares to some of the bigger brands on the market. I have a feeling this will be a huge hit with women so if you are interested then make sure to keep an eye out for Aldi Special Buys in October/November (maybe even make a note on your calendars).
The rest of my time there was spent snooping around the various rooms and being amazed at the variety of food showcased, anything from Christmas dinner with all the the trimming, party foods, desserts and even alcoholic beverages. I even had the chance to sip on a mulled wine which I was so excited about, it's my favourite alcoholic drink during cold winter months and this one was super delicious. I also enjoyed getting a sneak peek of the Christmas gifts Aldi will have on offer and I've already made a list of things that I want to pick up for Ellie & even a few sneaky purchases for me. That gorgeous wooden doll house for example is first on the list which I can already imagine Ellie playing with, along with the stunning pair of house shoes (reminiscent of the UGG alternatives) which will sure keep my feet cosy & warm in the winter.
It's safe to say that I've definitely got my Christmas spirit ready to rock once it's socially acceptable to do so, don't worry I won't start a countdown or anything like that (just yet). Once again thank you Aldi for having me over at such a fantastic event, I really enjoyed my time spent there and I'm looking forward to what you've got in store. Have you been to any events lately or even a Christmas themed event? I'd love to know…
