Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite

Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite

This is one of Makeup Revolution's latest eyeshadow palettes, Unicorns Unite (well it was when I got my hands on it a few weeks ago but since then there's been a few more released). Regardless it's quite new on the market  and it's definitely one of the bolder palettes out there, with a good few colourful shades. The bold shades, in particular the bright green toned ones, are what caught my eye and why I bought the palette in the first place. Needless to say if you like your neutral shades and you shy away from colours in your eye looks, then this is probably not the palette for you but for the £6 price tag having bright shades like these in your collection is definitely worth it in my opinion. From the start I have been impressed with Makeup Revolution eyeshadows in terms of quality and this palette doesn't disappoint.

The packaging is made of shiny black plastic but it actually looks really good considering the budget price and it's also really sleek. As you can see this palette contains a good mix of shimmer and matte formulas which are both super pigmented and buttery. I was originally attracted to the palette by the two emerald green shades but after swatching them all I pretty much love all the shades within, they're just equally as gorgeous. As usual the palette contains a plastic sheet with the names on top but I hate keeping that in my palette so it usually gets chucked out once I keep it for the first makeup look created. It also has a dual foam applicator brush which to me is pretty much useless, but this time I decided to use it for getting neat swatches of the shades on my hands (so there's an idea before you chuck it in the bin like I would usually do). The only shade that lacks pigment for me and is on the chalky side is the matte black shade, but I honestly don't mind as I think it's very hard to get a really good black shade within a budget brand.

I created a fun colourful makeup look with this (which I'll post on Saturday for anyone interested) and I was surprised by how little fallout I experienced even though it was a full on smokey eye. The shades blended beautifully and felt soft to the touch, plus I tested them out without a primer for a change and they lasted a good 6 hours before any kind of fading started to show up, which is really impressive in my books. For £6 I really couldn't ask for better quality and I will be sure to get use out of this even if it's just to create fun makeup tutorials for the blog. Have you got your hands on this amazing palette from Makeup Revolution yet? Or are you loving other palettes that the brand have recently released? Let me know cuz I'm a nosy fecker like that…
