I've been feeling quite summer-y lately despite the crazy mixed weather (must have been all the Mojitos last week) so I thought I would share one of my go to makeup looks for this time of year. This is not my everyday makeup look by any means, as that's literally 5 mins of slapping a bit of concealer & mascara on or going completely barefaced, but it's for the days when I have a little more time on my hands. A simple bronzed look works really well with a bronzed, sun kissed skin & this time I decided to add a pop of colour to the mix.
As you can see from the image above the eyes are very simple to recreate and they last really well throughout the day/evening. You can use any shade you like under the lower lash line but I decided to go for a dark turquoise shade from Kiko as I feel like it brings out the brown colour of my eyes. Actually scratch that red/pink shades are probably something you want to avoid using on the lower lash line as you might end up looking like you have some sort of an eye infection (not a good look).
My base of choice during summer has to be on the natural side so I usually opt for something light & quite sheer; for this look I used my KIKO Universal Fit Foundation as it fits the description well. Applying it with my damp Beautyblender means that I can blend it out into a sheer layer, because if I need extra coverage that's what concealer is all about & here I used MAC Pro Long Wear Concealer. To set it all in place and give the skin a glow, I opted on the Makeup Revolution Breathe Powder from the Radiance Palette.
I skipped harsh contouring and instead opted for a healthy bronzed skin by using The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder along with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Radiant Magenta.
I opted for matte lips to truly let the pop of turquoise remain as the star of the show. For this I use the L'Oreal Infallible Lipliner in Always Toasted with NARS Audacious Lipstick in Julie on top. This lasted most of the evening throughout eating and drinking but it did make my lips feel quite dry, so a good dose of hydration was needed after.
