If you read my blog from the beginning you might know that I have been lusting after a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick for the longest time ever. It's just been one of those products that I would always swatch and have all the heart emjois for, but never actually bought because they are indeed pricey. Around Christmas when I realised TheLoop at Dublin Airport were offering €10 off duty free purchases I decided to bite the bullet and finally tick it off my never ending wish list. It was after all a really good bargain that I just could turn down and lets face it who can resist duty free shopping, not me anyway.
What makes this cult product so special and worthy of al the hype, well just look at it… it's simply stunning in my opinion. After much hesitation on the various shades available (5 to be precise) I finally settled on Pink Quartz which I think is perfect for me and my skin tone. This multi tasking compact can be used as a blush, a highlighter and even as individual eyeshadows, which again makes it easier for me to justify the price tag. My favourite way to use it is by swirling a fluffy blush brush through all the shades in order to get a gorgeous "warm pink glow". I was particularly drawn to this shade purely because it has an even mix of beige & rose toned bricks, which pretty much combines two of their popular bricks Bronze and Rose.
The key with this compact is to use a light hand or you will end up looking like a disco ball. Take my word for it when I say that as lovely as it is to sweep this onto the face, less is definitely more. If applied lightly this adds the most gorgeous glow to the skin and gives off a very luminous finish. I already know that with a hint of a tan in the summer this won't be out of my hands, because I can already imagine that it will look even better on a sun kissed skin.
Overall I don't regret giving in to the hype and finally getting my hands on it. Have you tried this particular shimmer brick? Or do you have a different shade that you love?
