Let's face it I am a lip balm junkie all year round but this time of the year is when the big guns come out. Winter has my lips chapped pretty much on a daily basis so you can be sure to see me sporting a lip balm of some sort in the next few months wether that may be tinted or just plain moisturising. With that being said I thought I would share with you my go to lip saviours at the moment.
Before I start off I just wanted to mention that my much loved Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Balm has somehow been misplaced or lost (blame my toddler for it) which is a shame as I was hoping to use it in this post. Nevertheless it's an amazing balm so don't say I didn't tell you. Now onto the ones I manage to salvage & hide from my cheeky two year old.
First up we have Seascape Peppermint Lip Balm which I picked up at # BloggersTeaParty and a brand I have been completely unfamiliar with till now. I love trying out new brands and this is no exception. The scent is gorgeous and it has the weirdest texture for a lip balm as it feels grainy. Because of this what I love to do is apply this right before I start my makeup as it moisturises my skin throughout the whole process. Then when it comes to applying lipstick (which I leave to the end) I simply rub my lips together for a great polishing effect. I then remove the excess and my lips are in the best condition they can be for applying lipstick. The packaging is sturdy and feels luxe, there's not one thing I don't like about it.
Next I have my favourite night lip treatment which is The Body Shop Aloe Lip Treatment. This stuff is amazing I can't even express it enough. I bought this upon Essie's (EssieButton) recommendation a while back and I just love everything about it. The price is affordable especially if you buy it in one of their sales and the tube is practical and hygienic. I love applying this at night because it has a tick formula and in the morning I wake up to the softest lips ever.
I've then got an old favourite which is coming to the end of its life with me, I am of course talking about Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid. This again was a night treatment for me when I first bought it and I loved how fresh it smelled and how well it stayed on throughout the night whilst keeping my lips moisturised. Unfortunately it doesn't get as much love anymore since introducing that bad boy above into my routine but I still wanted to include it as it's a great product. This comes in a range of scents and you can even get tinted versions, so I will definitely be on the lookout for one of those next.
Next up I have the good old Nivea with the Lip Fruity Shine. I'm sure we've all had a Nivea lip balm at one stage or another in our lives. You can get these in a ton of scents/tints and they are super cheap. I always have one of these in my stash because you can't go wrong with them really. The latest one for me is a cherry scent with a tiny hint if colour to it. This adds a gorgeous gloss to the lips with a natural tint and it's just great for those days when you want to keep your lips moisturised but give them a little bit of colour/gloss.
Last up is my all time favourite and the one lip balm I have been loving since my school days, the Carmex lip balm. I remember sitting in school and having my friend pop this out so of course I had to try some and since then I've been hooked on it. I know the pot is a little bit unhygienic but you can buy it in tube versions and again it comes in so many scents/tints now, way more then the options we had when I was in school. It's a great all rounder lip balm for topping up throughout the day and I just love the tingling sensation it gives to your lips.
So that's my top lip saviours and the products that will keep my lips soft & moisturised all winter long. What are your top favourite lip balms? Would love to hear some suggestions from you all…
