TooFaced Boudoir Eyes Palette

TooFaced Boudoir Eyes Palette

So I went ahead and bought myself one of the giveaway prizes, don't worry I will still buy one for the winner also. But after weeks of being so indecisive with which one I actually wanted for myself I finally bit the bullet as I picked up the gorgeous Boudoir palette (one of the most popular options in the giveaway comments actually). This palette is a beauty it really is and it's also perfectly sized to bring away with you or carry around in your purse (if that's your thing).

The compact is very sturdy and it also includes a mirror which I love because it saves you having to  carry another product around with you simply for that purpose. Just inside the mirror it includes a little booklet offering you step by step guide for three different looks, which is great for someone who isn't overly confident with their makeup skills or is simply looking for some inspiration. I have looked at this once so I won't be keeping it in the palette as it's not a necessity for me. What I don't love about the packaging is that it's missing that satisfying click since it stays shut by magnets, but that's just me and my crazy clickable loving products obsession.

The shades are all perfect for me as you probably know by now that I love me some purple/pink tones. The best part is that you can really create a variety of looks just using these shades whether that may be a daytime look, an evening sophisticated look or even that all out party look. The shades are all buttery and very pigmented which is definitely a must with eyeshadows. The fallout is minimal with most of the shades, which I really enjoy because I am definitely a base first and eyes later type of girl. It has a mix of matte and shimmer to please everyone and the shades work really well together, as there's not one that stands out or makes me think how the heck am I going to use that.
Now the names of these shades, I'll admit it they are quite cheesy and I do cringe a little when I say/type them but I guess that's what TooFaced is all about; sexual innuendos to make you blush & giggle inside like a silly teenager. It's not exactly my cup of tea but it's not the end of the world either, you just gotta have a sense of humour when you read the names or watch some of their advertisements (go Youtube it now).

Top Row: all mates and all gorgeous. These are recommended for a day look which can be easily achieved but I definitely think you can also create a deep smokey eye for the evening.

Middle Row: This is where the shimmer comes in the first two shades and the last being matte. I love these shades probably the most as they are just that little bit different to anything else I own, which is always nice. They are also super easy to wear for any look you wish to create really. I look forward to playing with these more.

Last Row: these are designed for evening looks and I can't wait to use ahem 'French Tickler' for a gorgeous smokey eye.  I really like these last few shades and I think they complement the palette perfectly.

I won't go into any more details about the shades or the palette because I am hoping to create a few looks in the next couple of days as I get to grips with them all. Keep an eye out for a post showing you what I can create with it very soon…
