Budget Nude Lip inspired by Kyle Jenner

I have been seen variations of this famous Kyle Jenner look everywhere lately and I thought I would jump on the trend bandwagon and recreate my own version of it. Most of the looks are created with the ever so popular MAC brand or the new luxurious Charlotte Tillbury brand, but I didn't want to go out shopping and pick up new bits & pieces just for this post, so I figured I'm bound to find what I need with a good look through my stash. I managed to find everything I needed within seconds and realised that every product (apart from one) is also 'drugstore' therefore budget friendly, which makes it a nice change from the high end recreations.

So first I prepped my lips with MAC Lip Prep & Prime because my lips are always on the dry side and end up looking horribly wrong if I apply lip pencil without a base of some sort underneath. I love this product but don't use it as much as I should because it's sometimes one of those unnecessary steps that I don't have time for or I end up forgetting about completely. So of course you can give this step a miss or use an ordinary lip balm to give your lips a bit of moisture if needed. For me it's just a personal step and something I like to do when I am really giving my lips focus!

Next up is outlining the lips with the L'Oreal Infallible Lip Liner in Always Toasted and filling in the rest of the lip also, this gives an everyday lipstick extra staying power so if you've got time to spare I definitely recommend this step to be taken. For me it has also helped me achieve fuller looking lips, as mine are usually so thin.

When it came to which lipstick to apply I had two in mind and neither had that exact shade that I was looking for but each had properties that I wanted. So I did what any good blogger would do by mixing them together using my Real Techniques Retractable Lip Brush to create the perfect nude shade for me. Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Asia had the gorgeous pink tones to it that I wanted to achieve but it was too much pink, so I used my Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight to add tones of nude.

And voila nude lips à la Kyle Jenner style in my own way. I actually can't believe how much I like this look on me. I wasn't expecting to fall in love with it so much, it was just a trend I wanted to take part in. But now I'm hooked and I'll definitely be recreating this in the future, just need to get it done on the days when time is playing nicely on my side, because it is a pretty long technique for lips alone (ain't nobody got time for that).

To pair up this gorgeous nude lip, I went for a simple smokey eye, with matte shades that had hints of pink & mauve to them. Of course I had to work a little bit of eyeliner in there but nothing too extreme as it was a daytime look. Add a curl to your lashes plus a coating of mascara and you are good to go.

Have you tried this look yet? What are your favourite products to achieve the perfect nude lip? I'd love to know in the comments below and don't forget to let me know what you think of my recreation…
