Super Speedy Makeup Look

5 Minute Makeup Look

When you’re a mommy and you have a little one copying and wanting to do everything you’re doing it’s a bit tough to go about creating an elaborate daily makeup look (unless you want half of your makeup stash bitten and spread all over the floor, which has happened on an occasion or two). This is why I’ve had to come up with a makeup look that I can achieve in 5 minutes or less. Now bear in mind I can go days without makeup at all but I like to create this look when I feel a bit down on myself or if I’m having a bad skin day.

Since I have combination skin (especially now in the summer), I didn’t apply my regular moisturiser and decided to go straight ahead with the Garnier Miracle Skin Cream, which I applied using my fingers. This basically evens out my skin adding the tiniest amount of coverage. I’ve used this a few times and I’m still not sure what to think about it. I like how quick and easy it is to apply but I hate that if you try to go over an area to blend it in a bit better it just gets patchy. I’m not too sure if I’ll use this in the colder months but for now it’s doing the job.

Next up is concealer as I have quite dark under eye circles (always have probably due to my sallow skin tone). I’ve used Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer, which I’m really enjoying using, as it doesn’t settle into my very fine lines.

Right after I hurriedly applied MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (in Medium) all over my face concentrating on my T-zone, using an Eco Tools Powder Brush. I like this powder as it adds a bit more coverage when wearing a very light base. But it doesn’t keep the shine at bay for very long on my oily nose & forehead. In fact I haven’t actually come across a powder that does. Do you have any good recommendations?

I then quickly bronzed up my face using my new Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder, which I have fallen in love with. It’s so easy to achieve a healthy & natural glow using this.

Using a Black Canvas F15 Small Contour/Highlight Brush, I then applied my new favourite highlighter MAC MSF in Soft & Gentle. I first used this during my makeup course and debated for months if I should actually buy it. As you can see I finally gave in and purchased it in Dublin airport when I was on my way over to London (it was duty free and it was a present to myself for taking such a big step in the move over here). I’m really glad I finally caved because I use it all the time and love it!

Next up I quickly used the bronzer to cover my eyelids and then add a bit of shimmer on top by applying the same highlighter I used on my face. I love getting multi uses out of products and I learned this particular technique from YouTube beauty guru Tanya Burr (if you don’t already know her you need to check her out, she’s just lovely). I finished my eye off by using Topshop Waterproof Liner (in Burnished). This glides on smoothly, which makes it very quick & easy to use.

Garnier Miracle Complexion, Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer, MAC MSF Soft & Gentle, The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder, MAC Cremesheen Lipstick Creme Cup, Mac Mineralise Natural Powder, Topshop Waterproof Eyeliner, Benefit Instant Brow Pencil, Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara

Then I curl my eyelashes with my Shu Uemura Curler, something that I never used to do (I actually didn’t own an eyelash curler). But once I mastered the technique during my course I decided to invest in one and now I use it all the time. You might think it’s a step that you can skip, but it actually makes your mascara application so much quicker since your lashes are already curled (well it does for me anyway). Once that’s done I added a coat of mascara and the one I’m currently using is Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara. I bought this during Lancome’s Hypnose Mascara 10th year anniversary a few months back for only €10 (I just couldn’t pass on this deal even though I had a few other mascaras I needed to use up, hence why I'm only using it now).

I then literally took seconds to fill in my brows and brush them into shape with Benefit Instant Brow Pencil and add a touch of colour to my lips with my new favourite lipstick MAC Cremesheen Crème Cup.

Real Techniques Blush Brush, Ecotools Powder Brush, Black Canvas F15, Mac 217, Silk PRO Foundation Brush

And that’s it your then good to go. How quick and easy was that? Do you have any makeup tips you want to share? Let me know as I’d love to hear them!

    1. Thanks :D I really recommend it as a bronzer because it gives you such a nice glow (it wouldn't be as suitable for contouring though as it's quite light on my sallow skin) x
