My Customised MAC Eyeshadow Palette

As promised from my Makeup Storage post here's a better look at my most treasured makeup product which is my MAC Palette of course. I absolutely love it and currently don't own any other eyeshadow palettes as this has everything I need and more. This doesn't stop me from lusting after many eyeshadow palettes out there (I' m a beauty addict after all and a girl can dream right).

MAC Palette, Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer, MAC 217 brush, MAC 239 brush

I don't think I would have ever bought a full palette for myself as it adds up to a ridiculous price or it would have taken me years to build one up from scratch. So you can imagine my expression last Christmas morning when I received this from my fiancee David (he knows me so well). I just couldn't believe my eyes, as I looked at eyeshadow after eyeshadow and then had the pleasure of putting it all together. I loved and still do love each and every single eyeshadow picked out for me. You're probably thinking how did he manage to get it all so perfect and that was the first thing I asked, soon finding out that without my soon to be sister-in-law Sarah, it would have been impossible. She managed to pick out such beautiful shades that suit me so well and made it into such a versatile palette. In other words she's a star!

Before taking a few snaps of the palette, the OCD in me cleaned it spotless whilst rearranging the order of the shades (in case you're wondering why it might look a tad different from the last time I took photos of it). Now onto the actual eyeshadows, I'll go through the palette row by row starting from the top so here is the first bunch;  from left to right we have: SHROOM, PHLOOF!, ALL THAT GLITTERS, KID, QUARRY. Most of these shades have a pink tint to them and they are also the lightest of them all. I use these a good bit as they are quite suited for daytime looks. I also love using the brighter shades in the inner corner of my eye to brighten the whole area. Aren't they so beautiful (I could stare at them all day).

Next row of shades are a little bit darker and have more of bronze tint to them. From left to right: RETROSPECK, ERA, WOODWINKED, BRONZE, ESPRESSO. I love using most of these shades together for a bronze/brown smokey eye look. I think the shades work really well together creating the perfect smokey eye! I don't use these shades as often as I would like to, as they're more suited for an evening look (you can probably guess how much going out I get to do with a toddler).

Last row is definitely made up of the darkest shades suited for a glamourous night-time look! From left to right there's: AMBER LIGHTS, EMBARK, SKETCH, CRANBERRY, CARBON. I actually used most of these shades to create the purple smokey eye seen here for the LA College photo shoot. I also tend to use these the rare times I do get to go out, as I think the purple shades suit the colour of my eyes perfectly. Just look at CRANBERRY it's just gorgeous, I love it!

MAC eyeshadows will remain my favourite out of all the brands I've tried so far, because they are super soft & buttery (definitely a must for an easy application). MAC has so many shades to choose from (you could easily spend hours browsing through them all) and each shade is amazingly pigmented. I love using this palette along with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer as they stay put all day without any creasing at all, it's amazing stuff. Since discovering this primer a few years back I haven't used anything else and to be honest I'm not planning on changing it up either (they do say if it's not broken why try to fix it). I also love using my two favourite MAC brushes (my only two actually) but they are incredible at creating a smokey eye flawlessly! I have the 239 and the 217 brushes, which I would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat. I know they are pricey so I'm sure there are many cheaper dupes out there, I just haven't come across them yet. If you have any suggestions do let me know in the comments below, as I can never have too many brushes right?!

I'm gonna try my best to have one or possibly three (spending how much toddler free time I get) different eye makeup looks created for Friday's post using each row as I explained them so please check that out! Till then have you got any favourite MAC eyeshadows? Or maybe some great dupes you want to share?

This is literally the perfect palette, I think we have similar taste as I own a couple of the colors here :) I've been wanting to depot my single shadows but I want my palette to look like this so then I don't know what to do with the other crazy color eyeshadows (probably fill another palette haha) Love your blow, I just discovered it :) X

    1. Great minds think alike hehe :D! I would say you just create two palettes (one more neutral and one with brighter colours). That way you can build on them. Thank you I'm just browsing through yours now, it's great! x

  20. This wins for the most amazing gift ever I think! They've been so great! And the shades selection is wonderful. I love MAC eyeshadows but I feel they can be a bit hit a miss sometimes and nowadays I have other shadows I use more, while I still love them. I've just found Too Faced and Urban Dacay do amazing palettes that come out much cheaper and there is rarely a bad eyeshadow in them! ;)
